Richard Stenzhorn GmbH from Velbert and Ingpuls GmbH from Bochum are intensifying their long-standing collaboration and have agreed on a strategic cooperation in the field of shape memory alloys (SMA). The aim of the partnership is to take the production of flat and shaped wires to a new level by combining the two companies’ expertise and to expand the joint product portfolio in a targeted manner.
Flat and shaped wires made from shape memory alloys open up new perspectives for customers from a wide range of industries – in particular medical technology, actuator technology and the still young but highly innovative elastocalorics sector. Thanks to the joint development of coordinated process chains, customer-specific wire profiles can now be realized that were previously not possible in Ingpuls’ portfolio.
The cooperation between Ingpuls and Richard Stenzhorn is based on
years of experience, technical know-how and personal trust. Markus
Matschuck, CTO of Richard Stenzhorn GmbH, emphasizes:
“Since the beginning of 2019, we have been working successfully with
the Bochum-based company Ingpuls in the field of flat wires made of shape memory alloys.
This cooperation has enabled us to expand our product portfolio to
include the highly developed SMA materials and to significantly expand
our expertise in the forming of such high-tech alloys. We particularly
value the close and intensive cooperation, which has enabled us to build
up detailed knowledge and in-depth skills in this demanding material
segment. This expertise is now available to our mutual customers
worldwide. Another aspect that we would like to emphasize is the
personal relationship with all employees and at all levels of the
Ingpuls company. Their support and commitment, which were already
noticeable in the initial phase of the cooperation, have made a major
contribution to the success of this partnership. We are very much
looking forward to continuing to work with Ingpuls and wish them
continued success and valuable joint projects in the future.”
Dr. Christian Großmann, member of the Ingpuls management board, also sees the cooperation as an important step:
“In recent years, we have repeatedly received inquiries about producing rectangular or profiled wires from our shape memory alloys.
Due to our current portfolio and our machinery and equipment, we have
unfortunately not been able to meet the needs of these customers without
external support. We therefore looked for a partner who, if possible,
comes from our local area and has specific knowledge and extensive
experience in the requested segment. In Richard Stenzhorn GmbH, we found
such a partner, with whom we then managed to work closely together to
transform round wires from various SMA alloys into profile wires. This
new ability opens up completely new possibilities for us and our
customers and thus also the expansion of our product segment. Our
customers can now order from a larger product portfolio and we can
appear on the market together with our colleagues from Richard Stenzhorn
GmbH and shape our sales. These are great opportunities that we are
looking forward to.”
Thanks to the strategic partnership, joint customers now have access to high-precision flat and shaped wires made of SMA in consistently high quality. The cooperation marks an important step towards strengthening regional expertise, expanding the joint product range and promoting future-oriented technologies in the field of intelligent materials.
A further building block on the way to opening up new markets with shape memory alloys – together, innovatively and in partnership.
